Apart from AGOF, there are several other associations and organisations that deal with the medium Internet, each of these institutions focussing on specific key activities. Where overlaps or synergies occur, the associations exchange expertise. The following overview will list the most important institutions in the industry.

 

Institutions concerned with the Internet


ag.ma: ag.ma is a non-profit organisation that undertakes research on media consumption behaviour by conducting surveys. It is the main authority and the most important panel for collecting data on advertising media and establishing relevant media standards. In the future, as an ‘all-media’ umbrella organisation ag.ma will also include the online category.

FOMA: The Fachforum Online-Mediaagenturen [Expert’s forum for online media agencies] is a federation of 24 of the biggest German online media agencies. The objective of the FOMA is to exchange with the Organisation der Mediaagenturen im GWA (OMG) on a partnership basis.

BVDW: The Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft [Federation of Digital Trade] is the lobby group for all companies that take part in the digital value-added process. It engages in the dialogue with political parties, the public and other lobbies, in order to support the industry’s development.

OVK: The OVK of the BVDW is a federation of the leading German online marketers. The objective of the OVK is to raise the market profile of online advertising.

IVW: IVW is an independent organisation that is supported by media companies, advertisers, advertising agencies and media agencies. Its object is to provide valid data to monitor the performance of advertising media.
